Description

Drop it and Fetch are basic commands every dog must know. A 'Drop it' command is bascially when your puppy learns to spit out anything unwanted he has in his mouth. A 'Fetch' command is teaching the puppy to bring back a toy, newspaper etc. 

These two commands can be used individually or together. However, when they are used together, it not only strengthens the fetching instinct of the puppy but will also teach her to give you the object in her month and not run away with it instead!

Drop can be advantageous in many ways :

1. This can be used effectively when puppy spots harmful (but inviting) objects like plastics, used tissues, rags, footwear etc. while outdoors.

2. Even indoors, this can be quite a life saver when puppy picks up fragile or harmful objects like glass vases, spectacles, floor cleaner, disinfectants etc.

3. Puppy learns letting go of her favourite bone or toy does not mean it gets taken away and she doesnt need to get possessive over it.

Fetch is advantageous in these situations :

1. Teaches the puppy to come back to you with stuff in his mouth (wanted or unwanted) and exchanges it for a reward. Its hugely advantageous when the puppy comes with something unwanted rather than running away!

2. Reinforces the trust and builds a stronger bond with her caregivers.

3. Its a great indoor or outdoor game which reinforces Recall and Drop it commands.
